### Calculate a birth chart

Work out someone's birth chart from when and where they were born: their sun, moon and rising signs, the sign and house of every planet, and the angles between them. The time is the local clock time where they were born.

**Inputs**

- Date of birth (`birth_date`, date, required): The day they were born, from 1900 to 2100.
- Time of birth (`birth_time`, time): The local time they were born. Leave empty if unknown and noon is used: the sun sign stays right, but the rising sign and houses may not.
- Place of birth (`birth_place`, text): The town or city they were born in, ideally with its country, such as Leeds, United Kingdom. Leave empty if you fill in Latitude and Longitude instead.
- Latitude (`latitude`, number): Only if you know the exact spot: the birthplace's latitude, from -90 (south) to 90 (north). Used instead of Place of birth. From -90 to 90.
- Longitude (`longitude`, number): Only if you know the exact spot: the birthplace's longitude, from -180 (west) to 180 (east). From -180 to 180.

### Find a place

Look up a town or city by name and get its full name and map coordinates, to check a birthplace before calculating a birth chart. Returns the best match and up to seven others.

**Inputs**

- Place (`place`, text, required): The town or city to look up, ideally with its country.

**Outputs**

### Get a horoscope

Get the horoscope for one zodiac sign: today's, this week's, this month's, or the one for a month you choose. Each is a few paragraphs on work, relationships and mood, ready to post or send, and weekly and monthly ones list the key dates too.

**Inputs**

- Zodiac sign (`sign`, text, required): The star sign to get the horoscope for. One of: `aries` (Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 19)), `taurus` (Taurus (Apr 20 - May 20)), `gemini` (Gemini (May 21 - Jun 20)), `cancer` (Cancer (Jun 21 - Jul 22)), `leo` (Leo (Jul 23 - Aug 22)), `virgo` (Virgo (Aug 23 - Sep 22)), `libra` (Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 22)), `scorpio` (Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 21)), `sagittarius` (Sagittarius (Nov 22 - Dec 21)), `capricorn` (Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 19)), `aquarius` (Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18)), `pisces` (Pisces (Feb 19 - Mar 20)). - Month (`month`, date): Any day in the month you want. CosmyDay writes monthly horoscopes ahead of time, so the coming months work too. Only when Horoscope for is A month you choose.

### Get horoscopes for every sign

Get all twelve horoscopes at once, from Aries to Pisces, for today, this week or this month. The one to use for a newsletter, a daily post or a channel that covers every sign.

**Inputs**

- Horoscopes for (`period`, text): Today's, this week's or this month's horoscopes. One of: `today`, `this_week` (This week), `this_month` (This month). Default: `today`.

Find out the moon's phase today, how much of it is lit, which sign it is in, and a short reading on what that means for the day.

### List upcoming sky events

List the retrogrades, eclipses, new and full moons, zodiac seasons and planet sign changes coming up, soonest first, each with its exact date and time and a plain explanation. Use it to post a reminder before Mercury goes retrograde or to fill a calendar.

**Inputs**

- Days ahead (`days`, number): How far ahead to look, in days. Up to 400. From 1 to 400. Default: `30`.
- Type of event (`event_type`, text): Only list one type of event, such as full moons or eclipses. Leave empty for every type.
- Importance (`importance`, text): Leave out the minor ones. Notable keeps moons, seasons, retrogrades and eclipses and drops most planet sign changes. One of: `all` (Everything, including minor sign changes), `notable` (Notable events only), `major` (Only the biggest: eclipses and major retrogrades). Default: `all`.
- Starting from (`start_date`, date): The first day to look from. Leave empty to start today.
- Most events (`limit`, number): The most events to return, up to 200. From 1 to 200. Default: `50`.
