**Inputs**

**Outputs**

- `added_on` (text): The day Daily Food Recalls first picked the recall up (YYYY-MM-DD).

- `allergens` (list): Allergens the recall is about, e.g. Milk or Tree nuts. Empty when the recall is not about an allergen.

- `official_url` (text): Link to the agency's own notice. This is the authoritative version.
- `page_url` (text): Link to the recall's page on Daily Food Recalls.
- `product` (text): The recalled product, as the agency's notice names it.

### Search recalls

Find current U.S. food recalls by product or brand, by the state they were sold in, by allergen, by kind of hazard, by how serious they are, or by date. Every filter is optional and they combine, so you can ask for, say, Class I recalls sold in Texas since last Monday. Newest first. No API key required.

**Inputs**

- Search words (`query`, text): Words to look for in the product, brand, company, store, UPC or lot code. Every word must appear. Leave it empty to match everything.
- Sold in (`states`, list): Only recalls of products sold in any of these states. Nationwide recalls are always included. One or more of: `AL` (Alabama), `AK` (Alaska), `AS` (American Samoa), `AZ` (Arizona), `AR` (Arkansas), `CA` (California), `CO` (Colorado), `CT` (Connecticut), `DE` (Delaware), `DC` (District of Columbia), and 46 more.
- Agency (`agency`, text): Only recalls from this agency. The FDA covers most foods; the USDA covers meat, poultry and egg products. Leave it empty for both. One of: `FDA` (FDA (most foods)), `USDA` (USDA (meat, poultry and egg products)).
- Hazard (`hazard_types`, list): Only recalls for any of these kinds of problem. One or more of: `pathogen` (Germs, such as Salmonella, Listeria or E. coli), `allergen` (Undeclared allergen), `foreign_material` (Foreign objects, such as metal, plastic or glass), `chemical` (Chemicals, unapproved additives or toxins), `labeling` (Labeling or inspection problem).
- Allergens (`allergens`, list): Only recalls about any of these allergens, such as milk or peanuts left off the label. One or more of: `milk`, `egg` (Eggs), `fish`, `shellfish`, `tree-nut` (Tree nuts), `peanut` (Peanuts), `wheat`, `soy`, `sesame`.
- Seriousness (`recall_classes`, list): Only recalls of these classes. Class I is the most serious. One or more of: `1` (Class I: could cause serious health problems or death), `2` (Class II: could cause temporary or reversible health problems), `3` (Class III: unlikely to cause health problems).
- Started on or after (`started_on_or_after`, date): Only recalls that started on or after this day.
- Published on or after (`published_on_or_after`, date): Only recalls the agency published on or after this day. Use this to catch new announcements: a recall can be published weeks after it started.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): The most recalls to return, from 1 to 100. 25 by default. From 1 to 100. Default: `25`.

**Outputs**

- `attribution` (text): The credit line to show wherever you publish this data, as the data's CC BY 4.0 licence requires.
- `count` (number): How many recalls are in the list.
- `feed_date` (text): The day the Daily Food Recalls feed was last updated (YYYY-MM-DD).
- `recalls` (list): The recalls, the most recently started first.
- `total_matches` (number): How many recalls matched in all. More than count when Maximum results cut the list short.
