## Actions

### Get a citation

Turn a DOI into a formatted citation (APA, Chicago, MLA, Harvard, IEEE or Vancouver) or a BibTeX or RIS entry for a reference manager. Works for Crossref DOIs too.

**Inputs**

- DOI (`doi`, text, required): The DOI, such as 10.5281/zenodo.10680266. A https://doi.org/ link works too.
- Format (`citation_format`, text): The citation style, or BibTeX or RIS. One of: `apa`, `chicago-author-date` (Chicago (author-date)), `modern-language-association` (MLA), `harvard-cite-them-right` (Harvard), `ieee`, `vancouver`, `bibtex`, `ris`. Default: `apa`.

**Outputs**

- `citation` (text): The citation as plain text, or the BibTeX or RIS entry.
- `citation_html` (text): The formatted citation with its italics as HTML. Empty for BibTeX and RIS.
- `doi` (text): The DOI, in lowercase.
