## Actions

### Create contract

Create a contract from one of your templates and send it out for signature. Fill in the template's placeholders and list the people who need to sign.

**Inputs**

- Template (`template_id`, text, required): The template to generate the contract from.
- Signers (`signers`, list, required): The people who need to sign. Each signer needs a name and either an email address or a mobile number.
- Contract title (`title`, text): A title for the contract. Leave blank to use the template's own title.
- Template placeholders (`placeholder_fields`, object): Values that fill the template's placeholders. Add one entry per placeholder: the key is the placeholder name from your template and the value is the text to insert.
- Signing page language (`locale`, text): The language of the signing page and signer emails. Defaults to the template's own language. One of: `en` (English), `en-GB` (English (UK)), `cz` (Czech), `da` (Danish), `de` (German), `el` (Greek), `es` (Spanish), `fi` (Finnish), `fr` (French), `hr` (Croatian), and 15 more.
- Reference (`metadata`, text): Your own reference for this contract (for example an order ID). It is echoed back and included in webhooks.
- Expires after (hours) (`expires_in_hours`, number): How many hours the signature request stays valid. Leave blank for no expiry. At least 1.
- Save as draft (`save_as_draft`, true/false): Turn on to create the contract as a draft without sending it. Leave off to send it for signature straight away. Default: `false`.
- Test mode (`test`, true/false): Turn on to create a free test contract that is not legally binding and is never billed. Leave off for a real contract. Default: `false`.

**Outputs**

- `contract_id` (text): ID of the new contract.
- `metadata` (text): The reference you supplied, echoed back.
- `signers` (list): The signers on the contract.
- `status` (text): The contract's status, for example 'sent' or 'draft'.
- `title` (text): The contract's title.
