### Get company peers

Get the stock symbols of companies similar to one company: in the same country and the same sub-industry, industry or sector.

**Inputs**

- Stock symbol (`symbol`, text, required): The company's stock symbol, such as AAPL for Apple or MSFT for Microsoft. Search symbols finds one from a company name.
- Compare by (`grouping`, text): How alike the peers must be. Peers are always in the same country as the company. One of: `subIndustry` (Same sub-industry (closest peers)), `industry` (Same industry), `sector` (Same sector (broadest)). Default: `subIndustry`.

### Get company profile

Get a company's name, industry, exchange, country, currency, IPO date, market cap, shares outstanding, website, logo and phone number.

**Inputs**

- Stock symbol (`symbol`, text, required): The company's stock symbol, such as AAPL for Apple or MSFT for Microsoft. Search symbols finds one from a company name.

Get the companies reporting earnings between two dates, with the time of day and the expected and reported EPS and revenue, for every company or just one. Covers the next 7 days unless you set dates.

### Get market news

Get the latest market news, newest first: general, currencies, crypto, or mergers and acquisitions. Returns the newest article's ID, so a scheduled workflow can get only what is new each time.

**Inputs**

- Category (`category`, text): The kind of market news to get. One of: `general` (General market news), `forex` (Currencies (forex)), `crypto`, `merger` (Mergers and acquisitions). Default: `general`.
- Only articles after ID (`newer_than_id`, number): Only articles newer than the one with this ID. To get only what is new since the last run, pass in the Latest ID an earlier run of this step returned. Leave blank for the latest articles.
- Maximum articles (`limit`, number): The most articles to return, newest first. Leave blank for all of them. At least 1.

### Get SEC filings

Get a company's SEC filings, newest first, optionally only one form such as 10-K annual reports or 8-K event reports, with links to read each one: up to 250 at a time.

**Inputs**

- Stock symbol (`symbol`, text, required): The company's stock symbol, such as AAPL for Apple or MSFT for Microsoft. Search symbols finds one from a company name.
- Form (`form`, text): Only filings of this form. Leave blank for every form. One of: `10-K` (10-K: annual report), `10-Q` (10-Q: quarterly report), `8-K` (8-K: major event or earnings release), `4` (4: insider trade), `DEF 14A` (DEF 14A: proxy statement), `S-1` (S-1: IPO registration), `S-3` (S-3: shelf registration), `13F-HR` (13F-HR: fund holdings report), `SC 13D` (SC 13D: stake over 5%, active investor), `SC 13G` (SC 13G: stake over 5%, passive investor), `20-F` (20-F: annual report of a foreign company), `6-K` (6-K: current report of a foreign company).
- Start date (`start_date`, date): Only filings on or after this day. Leave blank for the latest ones.
- End date (`end_date`, date): Only filings on or before this day.

**Outputs**

- `filing_count` (number): How many filings there are
- `filings` (list): The filings, newest first
- `symbol` (text): The stock symbol, e.g. AAPL

### Get stock quote

Get a US stock's latest price, with how much it moved since the previous close, and the day's open, high and low.

**Inputs**

- Stock symbol (`symbol`, text, required): The company's stock symbol, such as AAPL for Apple or MSFT for Microsoft. Search symbols finds one from a company name.

**Outputs**

- `change` (number): How much the price moved since the previous close
- `high` (number): The day's highest price
- `low` (number): The day's lowest price
- `open` (number): The day's opening price
- `percent_change` (number): That move as a percentage, e.g. 0.88 for 0.88%
- `previous_close` (number): The previous trading day's closing price
- `price` (number): The latest price
- `symbol` (text): The stock symbol, e.g. AAPL
- `updated_at` (text): When the price was last updated, as an ISO 8601 UTC time

### Search symbols

Find a company's stock symbol from its name, ISIN or CUSIP, best match first, optionally on one exchange. The symbol is what the other Finnhub actions take.

**Inputs**

- Search for (`query`, text, required): A company name, symbol, ISIN or CUSIP, such as Apple, AAPL or US0378331005.
- Exchange (`exchange`, text): Only symbols listed on this exchange. Leave blank to search every exchange. One of: `BA` (Argentina: Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires), `AX` (Australia: ASX), `VI` (Austria: Vienna Stock Exchange), `BH` (Bahrain: Bahrain Bourse), `BR` (Belgium: Euronext Brussels), `SA` (Brazil: B3 (Sao Paulo)), `CN` (Canada: Canadian Securities Exchange), `NE` (Canada: NEO Exchange), `TO` (Canada: Toronto Stock Exchange), `V` (Canada: TSX Venture Exchange), and 67 more.
