## Actions

### Create a folder

Make a Gofile folder to collect files in and share with one link, with an optional password, description, tags and expiry date.

**Inputs**

- Folder name (`name`, text): What to call the folder. Leave empty for a random name.
- Who can open it (`sharing`, text): Whether anyone with the folder's link can open it, or only this Gofile account. One of: `public` (Anyone with the link), `private` (Only this account). Default: `public`.
- Password (`password`, text): Visitors must type this before they can open the folder: 4 to 100 letters, numbers and symbols, with no spaces.
- Expires at (`expires_at`, date and time): When the folder stops being available. On a free Gofile account the folder and everything in it are then deleted for good; on Premium only its link stops working.
- Description (`description`, text): Text shown on the folder's page to everyone who opens it, up to 2,000 characters. Formatting such as **bold** works.
- Tags (`tags`, text): Labels to sort it by, separated by commas, such as invoices, 2026. Each is up to 25 letters, numbers, dashes and underscores. They replace any tags it had.
- Inside folder (`parent_folder`, text): The folder to create it in: its folder ID. Leave empty to create it at the top of the account.

**Outputs**

- `created_at` (text): When it was created, e.g. 2026-10-16T02:47:55Z.
- `description` (text): The folder's description. Null when it has none.
- `expires_at` (text): When the folder expires, e.g. 2026-10-17T02:47:54Z. Null when it doesn't.
- `folder_id` (text): The folder's ID, for Upload a file, Update a folder and Delete files or folders to use this folder.
- `is_public` (true/false): Whether anyone with the link can open it.
- `name` (text): The folder's name.
- `parent_folder_id` (text): The ID of the folder it was created in.
- `password_protected` (true/false): Whether visitors need the password.
- `share_url` (text): The folder's page, e.g. https://gofile.io/d/OTOOvwKY. It opens for anyone while the folder is shared with anyone with the link.
- `tags` (list): The folder's tags.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "created_at": "2026-10-16T02:47:55Z",
  "description": "Made by Lodol's **QA** workflow. Safe to delete.",
