## Actions

### Look up IP address

Find out where an IPv4 or IPv6 address is (country, region, city, postcode, coordinates and UTC offset), which network it belongs to and whether it is a known proxy. Useful for tagging sign-ups or orders by country and for spotting visitors hiding behind a proxy. Private addresses come back with 'found' set to false rather than failing the step. No API key required.

**Inputs**

- IP address (`ip_address`, text, required): The IPv4 or IPv6 address to look up.

**Outputs**

- `asn` (number): The number of the network (autonomous system) the address belongs to, e.g. 15169.
- `city` (text): The city, e.g. 'Mountain View'.
- `country_code` (text): The country's two-letter code, e.g. 'US'.
- `country_name` (text): The country's name, e.g. 'United States of America'.
- `found` (true/false): True when IP2Location could place the address. False for a private or reserved address (such as 10.0.0.1) or one it has no record of; every other detail is then empty.
- `ip` (text): The address that was looked up, e.g. '8.8.8.8'.
- `is_proxy` (true/false): True when IP2Location knows the address as a proxy (an open proxy, VPN, Tor exit and the like).
- `latitude` (number): The latitude of the location, e.g. 37.38605.
- `longitude` (number): The longitude of the location, e.g. -122.08385.
- `network_name` (text): The name of the organisation that runs that network, e.g. 'Google LLC'.
- `postal_code` (text): The ZIP or postal code of the area, e.g. '94043'.
- `region` (text): The state, province or region, e.g. 'California'.
- `summary` (text): One line saying where the address is, e.g. '8.8.8.8 is in Mountain View, California, United States of America (Google LLC)', or that no location was found.
- `utc_offset` (text): The location's current offset from UTC, e.g. '-07:00'. It is an offset, not a time zone name, and moves with daylight saving.
