## Actions

### Capture a web page

Save a web page as a PDF or as a full-page screenshot, as it looks on a desktop, tablet or phone. The capture is saved for later steps.

**Inputs**

- Web page (`url`, text, required): The address of the page, such as https://example.com. It must open without signing in.
- Capture as (`capture_as`, text): A PDF document, or an image of the whole page. One of: `pdf` (PDF document), `png` (PNG image), `jpg` (JPG image). Default: `pdf`.
- Screen (`screen`, text): The size of screen to show the page on. One of: `desktop`, `tablet`, `phone`. Default: `desktop`.
- Save as (`filename`, text): Optional. The name to save the result under, such as 'Q3 report'. Leave blank to name it after the original.

**Outputs**

- `content_type` (text): The file's media type.
- `document_ref` (text): Reference to the saved file, for a later step to attach.
- `documents` (list): The captured page, saved. Usually one file; a conversion that makes several (a PDF's pages as images) lists each.
- `file_count` (number): How many files were saved.
- `filename` (text): Name of the saved file.
- `page_url` (text): The address that was captured.
- `size_bytes` (number): Size of the file in bytes.
- `status` (text): Status of the action execution ("success" on success).
- `url` (text): Download link for the saved file.
- `warnings` (list): Anything online-convert.com noted about the result, such as a file it could not compress any further.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "content_type": "application/pdf",
  "document_ref": "doc_9f8e7d6c5b4a43b2c1d0e9f8a7b6c5d4",
### Compress a file
Make a PDF, image, video or audio file smaller, in the same format, so it fits an email or an upload limit. The smaller file is saved for later steps.
**Inputs**
- File (`file`, text, required): The PDF, image, video or audio file to compress: upload one, pick a file from an earlier step, or paste a public link to one.
- How much (`compression`, text): Stronger makes a smaller file at more cost to quality. One of: `low` (Light · smallest change to quality), `medium`, `high` (Strong), `best` (Strongest · smallest file). Default: `high`.
- Aim for (MB) (`target_size_mb`, number): Optional. A size the file should fit in, such as 2 for an email attachment. online-convert.com gets as close as it can without ruining the file. Replaces 'How much'. From 0.01 to 1024.0.
- Save as (`filename`, text): Optional. The name to save the result under, such as 'Q3 report'. Leave blank to name it after the original.
**Outputs**
- `content_type` (text): The file's media type.
- `document_ref` (text): Reference to the saved file, for a later step to attach.
- `documents` (list): The compressed file, saved. Usually one file; a conversion that makes several (a PDF's pages as images) lists each.
- `file_count` (number): How many files were saved.
- `filename` (text): Name of the saved file.
- `size_bytes` (number): Size of the file in bytes.
- `status` (text): Status of the action execution ("success" on success).
- `url` (text): Download link for the saved file.
- `warnings` (list): Anything online-convert.com noted about the result, such as a file it could not compress any further.
- Convert to (`output_format`, text, required): The format to convert the file into.
- Save as (`filename`, text): Optional. The name to save the result under, such as 'Q3 report'. Leave blank to name it after the original.
**Outputs**
- `content_type` (text): The file's media type.
- `converted_to` (text): The format the file was converted into, e.g. pdf.
- `document_ref` (text): Reference to the saved file, for a later step to attach.
- `documents` (list): The converted file, saved. Usually one file; a conversion that makes several (a PDF's pages as images) lists each.
- `file_count` (number): How many files were saved.
- `filename` (text): Name of the saved file.
- `size_bytes` (number): Size of the file in bytes.
- `status` (text): Status of the action execution ("success" on success).
One or more of: `eng` (English), `spa` (Spanish), `fra` (French), `deu` (German), `ita` (Italian), `por` (Portuguese), `nld` (Dutch), `pol` (Polish), `ces` (Czech), `slk` (Slovak), and 44 more. Default: `["eng"]`.
- Convert to (`output_format`, text): Plain text is easiest for later steps to read; a Word document keeps the layout for editing; a searchable PDF looks like the scan but its text can be found and copied. One of: `txt` (Plain text (TXT)), `docx` (Word document (DOCX)), `pdf` (Searchable PDF). Default: `txt`.
- Save as (`filename`, text): Optional. The name to save the result under, such as 'Q3 report'. Leave blank to name it after the original.
- `document_ref` (text): Reference to the saved file, for a later step to attach.
- `documents` (list): The recognised text as a file, saved. Usually one file; a conversion that makes several (a PDF's pages as images) lists each.
- `file_count` (number): How many files were saved.
- `filename` (text): Name of the saved file.
- `size_bytes` (number): Size of the file in bytes.
- `status` (text): Status of the action execution ("success" on success).
- `text` (text): The text that was read, when converting to plain text (empty for Word and PDF).
- `url` (text): Download link for the saved file.
- `warnings` (list): Anything online-convert.com noted about the result, such as a file it could not compress any further.
**Example output**
