## Actions

### Create a folder

Create a folder to keep pastes in, at the top level or inside one of your folders.

**Inputs**

- Name (`name`, text, required): What to call the folder.
- Inside folder (`parent_folder`, text): Optional. One of your folders to create it in. Leave blank for the top level.

**Outputs**

- `created_at` (text): When the folder was made (ISO 8601, UTC).
- `folder_id` (text): The folder's ID, for the other folder steps.
- `name` (text): The folder's name.
- `parent_id` (text): The folder it is inside. Empty at the top level.
- `path` (text): Where it sits, from the top, such as Projects / Lodol.
- `status` (text): Status of the action execution ("success" on success).
- `url` (text): The folder's link on Pastefy.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "created_at": "2026-10-01T09:30:00Z",
  "folder_id": "Fo1dEr42",
  "name": "Scripts",
  "parent_id": "Pr0jEcts",
  "path": "Projects / Scripts",
  "status": "success",
  "url": "https://pastefy.app/folder/Fo1dEr42"
}
```

### Create a multi-file paste

Share several named files as one paste, each highlighted for its own language, such as a script with its log or config.

**Inputs**

- Files (`files`, object, required): Each file's name and contents, such as app.py and its code. The name's ending sets how Pastefy highlights that file. A files list an earlier step returned works too.
- Title (`title`, text): Optional. The paste's name, which works like a file name: end it in .py, .md, .json and so on, and Pastefy highlights the paste in that language.
- Visibility (`visibility`, text): Who can open the paste. One of: `unlisted` (Unlisted: anyone with the link can open it), `public` (Public: also listed on Pastefy's Explore page and your profile), `private` (Private: only your Pastefy account can open it). Default: `unlisted`.
- Folder (`folder`, text): Optional. One of your folders to put the paste in. Leave blank to keep it at the top level.
- Tags (`tags`, list): Optional. Words to file the paste under, such as python or notes, each up to 30 characters.
- Delete after (`delete_after`, text): How long the paste lasts before Pastefy deletes it for good, counted from when this step runs. One of: `never`, `10m` (10 minutes), `1h` (1 hour), `1d` (1 day), `7d` (7 days), `30d` (30 days), `365d` (1 year). Default: `never`.
- Encrypt (`encrypt`, true/false): Encrypt the paste in Lodol before it is sent, so Pastefy only ever stores scrambled text. Lodol makes up a password unless you give one, and returns it with a secret link that opens the paste. Default: `false`.
- Password (`password`, text): Optional. A password to encrypt the paste with; giving one turns on Encrypt. Anyone opening the paste on Pastefy will need it.

**Outputs**

- `content` (text): The paste's text. A multi-file paste keeps its files here as JSON; use files instead.
- `created_at` (text): When the paste was made (ISO 8601, UTC).
- `encrypted` (true/false): True when the paste is encrypted with a password.
- `expires_at` (text): When Pastefy will delete the paste. Empty if never.
- `files` (list): Every file in the paste, each with its name and contents. A paste that isn't multi-file has one, named by its title.
- `folder_id` (text): The folder the paste is in. Empty at the top level.
- `multi_file` (true/false): True for a paste of several named files.
- `owner` (text): The Pastefy user name of the paste's owner.
- `password` (text): The password the paste was encrypted with, given or made up. Empty when it isn't encrypted.
- `paste_id` (text): The paste's ID, for the other paste steps.
- `raw_url` (text): A link to the paste's bare text, with no page around it.
- `secret_link` (text): For an encrypted paste: its link with the password built in, which opens it straight away. Empty otherwise, or when the password has spaces or other characters a link can't carry.
- `status` (text): Status of the action execution ("success" on success).
- `tags` (list): The paste's tags.
- `title` (text): The paste's title (its file name).
- `url` (text): The paste's link, to open or share.
- `visibility` (text): Who can open it: unlisted, public or private.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "content": "[{\"name\":\"app.py\",\"contents\":\"print(1 / 0)\"},{\"name\":\"error.log\",\"contents\":\"ZeroDivisionError: division by zero\"}]",
  "created_at": "2026-10-05T16:43:35Z",
### Create a paste
**Inputs**
- Content (`content`, text, required): The text or code to share.
- Title (`title`, text): Optional. The paste's name, which works like a file name: end it in .py, .md, .json and so on, and Pastefy highlights the paste in that language.
- Visibility (`visibility`, text): Who can open the paste. One of: `unlisted` (Unlisted: anyone with the link can open it), `public` (Public: also listed on Pastefy's Explore page and your profile), `private` (Private: only your Pastefy account can open it). Default: `unlisted`.
- Folder (`folder`, text): Optional. One of your folders to put the paste in. Leave blank to keep it at the top level.
- Tags (`tags`, list): Optional. Words to file the paste under, such as python or notes, each up to 30 characters.
- Encrypt (`encrypt`, true/false): Encrypt the paste in Lodol before it is sent, so Pastefy only ever stores scrambled text. Lodol makes up a password unless you give one, and returns it with a secret link that opens the paste. Default: `false`.
- Password (`password`, text): Optional. A password to encrypt the paste with; giving one turns on Encrypt. Anyone opening the paste on Pastefy will need it.
**Outputs**
- `created_at` (text): When the paste was made (ISO 8601, UTC).
- `encrypted` (true/false): True when the paste is encrypted with a password.
- `expires_at` (text): When Pastefy will delete the paste. Empty if never.
- `files` (list): Every file in the paste, each with its name and contents. A paste that isn't multi-file has one, named by its title.
