## Actions

### Get a random Pokémon fact

Get one random Pokémon fact as plain text, ready to post in a chat or use later in the workflow. Choose a generation for a fact about its Pokémon, or leave it empty for a fact about generations 1 to 3. No API key required.

**Inputs**

- Generation (`generation`, text): Optional. Only facts about the Pokémon a generation introduced, from 1 (Kanto) to 9 (Paldea). Pokéfacts finds them by the Pokémon names in each fact, so the match is approximate: a fact can also mention Pokémon from other generations. Leave it empty and the facts come from generations 1 to 3 only, one of the three picked at random each run. One of: `1` (Generation 1 (Kanto)), `2` (Generation 2 (Johto)), `3` (Generation 3 (Hoenn)), `4` (Generation 4 (Sinnoh)), `5` (Generation 5 (Unova)), `6` (Generation 6 (Kalos)), `7` (Generation 7 (Alola)), `8` (Generation 8 (Galar and Hisui)), `9` (Generation 9 (Paldea)).

**Outputs**

- `fact` (text): The fact, as plain text.
- `generation` (number): The generation the facts were asked about, 1 to 9. Null when none was chosen, in which case Pokéfacts picked one of generations 1 to 3.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "fact": "Mewtwo comes before Mew in the Pokedex despite being created from its modified DNA.",
  "generation": null
}
```

### Get several random Pokémon facts

Get up to 50 random Pokémon facts in one step, all different, for a daily digest, a quiz or a batch of posts. Choose a generation for facts about its Pokémon, or leave it empty for facts about generations 1 to 3. No API key required.

**Inputs**

- Number of facts (`count`, number): Optional. How many facts to get, 1 to 50. 5 by default. The facts in one answer are always different from each other. From 1 to 50. Default: `5`.

**Outputs**

- `count` (number): How many facts came back: the number asked for.
- `facts` (list): The facts, each as plain text, in random order and never the same fact twice.
- `generation` (number): The generation the facts were asked about, 1 to 9. Null when none was chosen, in which case Pokéfacts picked one of generations 1 to 3.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "count": 3,
  "facts": [
    "Eevee has the most branched Evolutions, with a total of eight.",
    "Pikachu has the most event-exclusive moves available to it.",
    "Magikarp was the first Pok\u00e9mon featured in Professor Oak's Pok\u00e9mon Lecture in EP061."
  ],
  "generation": 1
}
```
