# Steem

### Find accounts

Find Steem accounts whose name starts with some text, in alphabetical order. Useful for checking whether a name exists or is taken.

**Inputs**

- Name starts with (`name_starts_with`, text, required): The start of the account name to look for.
- Number of accounts (`limit`, number): How many accounts to return, from 1 to 1000. Defaults to 10. From 1 to 1000. Default: `10`.

### Get a block

Get one block of the Steem blockchain, with every operation in it summarised in a sentence. Leave the number empty for the newest block.

**Inputs**

- Block number (`block_number`, number): Which block. A new one is made every 3 seconds. Leave empty for the newest. At least 1.

### Get a post

Get one post or comment with its full text, tags, votes, replies and payout.

**Inputs**

- Post link (`post`, text, required): The post's link from steemit.com (or any Steem site), or @author/permlink. Comments work too. Every post listed by another Steem step has a url to pass in here.

**Outputs**

- `author` (text): Account that wrote it.
- `author_reputation` (number): The author's reputation score, as Steemit shows it.
- `body` (text): Full text, in Markdown with some HTML.
- `created_at` (text): When it was posted (UTC).
- `image_url` (text): The post's first image.
- `is_paid_out` (true/false)
- `is_reply` (true/false): True for a comment.
- `parent_author` (text): For a comment, the author of what it replies to.
- `parent_permlink` (text)
- `payout_due_at` (text): When the pending payout is paid (UTC). Empty once paid.
- `payout_sbd` (number): Pending payout, or what it was paid once paid out, in SBD.

### Get a witness

Get one witness's votes, rank, version, missed blocks and price feed. Handy for watching whether a witness is missing blocks.

- Witness (`witness`, text, required): Pick one of the top 100, or type any witness's account name.

Get a Steem account's profile, reputation, wallet balances, STEEM Power, voting power and follower counts, plus an estimate of what it's all worth in US dollars.

### Get account activity

Get an account's latest activity on the blockchain, newest first: transfers, votes, posts, rewards, power ups and more, each with a one-line summary. Pick the kinds you want and a start time to see only what's new since your last run. Reads back through at most the last 1,000 entries.

**Inputs**

- Account (`account`, text, required): The Steem account name, with or without the @. A link to the profile, such as https://steemit.com/@steemitblog, works too.
- Kinds of activity (`categories`, text): Only return these kinds. Leave empty for everything. One or more of: `transfers`, `votes`, `posts` (Posts and comments), `rewards`, `power` (Power ups, power downs and delegations), `social` (Follows and resteems), `market` (Market trades), `account` (Account and witness changes), `other` (Everything else).
- Since (`since`, date and time): Only return activity from this moment on (UTC). Set it to your last run to see what's new. Leave empty for the latest activity.
- Number of entries (`limit`, number): How many entries to return, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 25. From 1 to 100. Default: `25`.

### Get an account's feed

Get the posts an account sees in its Steemit feed: the newest posts and resteems from the accounts it follows.

**Inputs**

- Account (`account`, text, required): The Steem account name, with or without the @. A link to the profile, such as https://steemit.com/@steemitblog, works too.
- Number of posts (`limit`, number): How many posts to return, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 10. From 1 to 100. Default: `10`.

### Get blockchain stats

Get the Steem blockchain's current state: the newest block, the supply of STEEM and SBD, how much is staked, and the reward pool.

### Get replies to a post

Get the direct replies to a post or comment, oldest first, each with its full text. Pass a reply's url back in to read the replies under it.

### Get STEEM price

Get the price of STEEM in US dollars from the witnesses' price feed, and the latest trade, bid, ask and 24-hour volume on Steem's internal STEEM/SBD market.

### Get votes on a post

Get who voted on a post or comment, how strongly and when, with counts of upvotes and downvotes.

**Inputs**

- Post link (`post`, text, required): The post's link from steemit.com (or any Steem site), or @author/permlink. Comments work too. Every post listed by another Steem step has a url to pass in here.
- Order (`sort`, text): How to order the votes. Biggest first if you leave it alone. One of: `strongest` (Biggest votes first), `newest` (Newest first), `oldest` (Oldest first). Default: `strongest`.
- Number of votes (`limit`, number): How many votes to return, from 1 to 1000. Defaults to 100. From 1 to 1000. Default: `100`.

### List an account's posts

List an account's newest posts, its blog including what it resteemed, or its newest comments.

**Inputs**

- Account (`account`, text, required): The Steem account name, with or without the @. A link to the profile, such as https://steemit.com/@steemitblog, works too.
- Show (`include`, text): What to list. Their own posts if you leave it alone. One of: `posts` (Their posts), `blog` (Their blog, with resteems), `comments` (Their comments). Default: `posts`.
- Number of posts (`limit`, number): How many posts to return, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 10. From 1 to 100. Default: `10`.

### List communities

List or search Steemit communities, with subscribers, active authors and pending payouts. A community's id works as a tag in List posts.

**Inputs**

- Search (`search`, text): Words to look for in the community's name or description.
- Sort by (`sort`, text): How to order them. Top ranked if you leave it alone. One of: `rank` (Top ranked), `subs` (Most subscribers), `new` (Newest). Default: `rank`.
- Number of communities (`limit`, number): How many communities to return, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 25. From 1 to 100. Default: `25`.

### List followers

List the accounts that follow an account, with its total follower count. For more than one page, pass the last page's next_start_after back in.

**Inputs**

- Account (`account`, text, required): The Steem account name, with or without the @. A link to the profile, such as https://steemit.com/@steemitblog, works too.
- Start after (`start_after`, text): Continue after this follower, from an earlier step's next_start_after. Leave empty to start at the beginning.
- Number of followers (`limit`, number): How many followers to return, from 1 to 999. Defaults to 100. From 1 to 999. Default: `100`.

### List following

List the accounts an account follows, with its total. For more than one page, pass the last page's next_start_after back in.

- Start after (`start_after`, text): Continue after this account, from an earlier step's next_start_after. Leave empty to start at the beginning.

### List posts

List posts the way Steemit's front page does: trending, hot, new, promoted or by highest payout, across the whole site or in one tag or community.

**Inputs**

- Sort by (`sort`, text): Which list to read. Trending if you leave it alone. One of: `trending`, `hot`, `created` (New), `promoted`, `payout` (Highest payout). Default: `trending`.
- Tag or community (`tag`, text): Only posts with this tag, or posted in this community. Pick a trending one or type any tag. Leave empty for all of Steemit.
- Number of posts (`limit`, number): How many posts to return, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 10. From 1 to 100. Default: `10`.

### List top witnesses

List the witnesses (the block producers) with the most votes, with each one's version, missed blocks and price feed. The top 21 produce the blocks.
