## Actions

### Compare revisions

Show what changed between two revisions of an entry, line by line, with each line marked as added, removed or unchanged (the diff behind 'what did that edit actually do to the definition?').

**Inputs**

- From revision (`from_revision`, number, required): The earlier revision id. At least 1.
- To revision (`to_revision`, number, required): The later revision id. At least 1.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.

**Outputs**

- `added_line_count` (number)
- `changes` (list)
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `from` (object)
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `removed_line_count` (number)
- `to` (object)

**Example output**

### Get definitions

Look a word up and get its definitions, already grouped by the language it belongs to and by part of speech, with usage examples. One spelling is often several words at once ('cat' is an English noun, an English verb, a Translingual symbol and a Dutch verb form) and each comes back separately. The English Wiktionary defines words from every language, so a French or Japanese word works here too; it is the only edition Wikimedia parses definitions for, so to read an entry on another edition use Get entry as text.

**Inputs**

- Word (`term`, text, required): The word or phrase to look up, spelled exactly as the entry is (Wiktionary titles are case-sensitive: 'cat' and 'Cat' are different entries).
- Parts of speech (`parts_of_speech`, list): Keep only the senses filed under these parts of speech. Leave every option unchecked to get them all. One or more of: `noun`, `proper noun`, `verb`, `adjective`, `adverb`, `pronoun`, `preposition`, `postposition`, `conjunction`, `interjection`, and 20 more.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Definitions are parsed for the English Wiktionary only (it covers words from every language), so leave this on English unless you know the edition you pick serves them. Default: `en`.

**Outputs**

- `definition_count` (number): Total definitions across every sense.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `languages` (list): Language codes this word is documented under, e.g. ['en', 'nl'].
- `senses` (list): One entry per language + part-of-speech combination.
- `term` (text)
- `url` (text): Link to the page on Wiktionary.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "definition_count": 1,
  "language": "en",
  "languages": [
    "en"
  ],
  "senses": [
    {
      "definitions": [
        {
          "definition": "A domesticated subspecies (Felis silvestris catus) of feline animal, commonly kept as a house pet.",
          "definition_html": "A <a rel=\"mw:WikiLink\" href=\"/wiki/domesticate\">domesticated</a> subspecies (<i>Felis silvestris catus</i>) of feline animal, commonly kept as a house pet.",
          "examples": [
            "The cat sat on the mat."
          ]
        }
      ],
      "language": "English",
      "language_code": "en",
      "part_of_speech": "Noun"
    }
  ],
  "term": "cat",
  "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat"
}
```

### Get entries linking here

List the entries that link *to* this one: the words that mention it in their definitions, its compounds and derived forms, and the alternative spellings that redirect to it.

**Inputs**

- Entry (`title`, text, required): The Wiktionary entry whose incoming links to list.
- Namespace (`namespace`, text): Only entries in this part of the wiki. Defaults to every namespace.
- Include (`include`, text): Whether to include redirects among the linking pages. Defaults to both. One of: `all` (Entries and redirects), `nonredirects` (Entries only), `redirects` (Redirects only). Default: `all`.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many entries to return (1–500). Defaults to 50. From 1 to 500. Default: `50`.
- Continue from (`continue_from`, text): Pass the 'next_page_token' a previous run returned to pick up where it stopped. Leave blank for the first page.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.

**Outputs**

- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `entries` (list)
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `next_page_token` (text): Token to pass back as 'continue_from' for the next page; empty when there is nothing more.
- `title` (text)
- `url` (text): Link to the page on Wiktionary.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "count": 2,
  "entries": [
    {
      "namespace": 0,
      "page_id": 1139,
      "title": "Abyssinian",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Abyssinian"
    },
    {
      "is_redirect": true,
      "namespace": 0,
      "page_id": 1654,
      "title": "kitty cat",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/kitty_cat"
    }
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "next_page_token": "0|1654",
  "title": "cat",
  "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat"
}
```

### Get entry as HTML

Get an entry rendered as HTML, ready to paste into an email, a document or a web page: headings, pronunciation tables, numbered senses and links all intact.

**Inputs**

- Entry (`title`, text, required): The Wiktionary entry to render.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.

**Outputs**

- `character_count` (number)
- `html` (text)
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `title` (text)
- `url` (text): Link to the page on Wiktionary.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "character_count": 71,
  "html": "<h2>English</h2><h3>Noun</h3><ol><li>A domesticated feline.</li></ol>",
  "language": "en",
  "title": "cat",
  "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat"
}
```

### Get entry as text

Get a whole entry as plain, readable text with the wiki markup already resolved (the form to hand to a summary, a translation or an AI step). An alternative spelling is followed to the real entry, and the title it came from is reported back.

**Inputs**

- Entry (`title`, text, required): The Wiktionary entry to read. Redirects are followed automatically.

- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `page_id` (number)
- `redirected_from` (text): The title asked for, when it redirected somewhere else; empty otherwise.
- `text` (text)
- `title` (text)
- `url` (text): Link to the page on Wiktionary.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "character_count": 84,
  "language": "en",
  "page_id": 36,
  "redirected_from": "",
  "text": "English\n\nPronunciation\n\nIPA: /k\u00e6t/\n\nNoun\n\ncat (plural cats)\n\nA domesticated feline.",
  "title": "cat",
  "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat"
}
```

### Get entry categories

List the categories an entry belongs to. Wiktionary's categories are its grammar metadata ('English nouns', 'English irregular verbs', 'English terms derived from Latin', 'English palindromes'), so reading them tells a workflow what kind of word it is holding.

**Inputs**

- Entry (`title`, text, required): The Wiktionary entry whose categories to list.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many categories to return (1–500). Defaults to 100. From 1 to 500. Default: `100`.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.

**Outputs**

- `categories` (list)
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `next_page_token` (text): Token to pass back as 'continue_from' for the next page; empty when there is nothing more.
- `page_id` (number)
- `title` (text)

**Example output**

```json
{
  "categories": [
    {
      "name": "English nouns",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_nouns"
    },
    {
      "name": "English 3-letter words",
      "title": "Category:English 3-letter words",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_3-letter_words"
    }
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "next_page_token": "",
  "page_id": 36,
  "title": "cat"
}
```

**Inputs**

- Entry (`title`, text, required): The exact title of the Wiktionary entry to check.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.

- `url` (text): Link to the page on Wiktionary.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "count": 2326,
  "count_type": "edits",
  "limit_reached": false,
  "title": "cat",
  "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat"
}
```

**Inputs**

- Entry (`title`, text, required): The Wiktionary entry whose history to read.
- Only show (`revision_filter`, text): Narrow the history to one kind of edit. Leave blank for every revision. One of: `reverted` (Reverted edits), `anonymous` (Edits by logged-out users), `bot` (Edits by bots), `minor` (Edits marked minor).
- Older than revision (`older_than_revision`, number): Return the revisions before this one; pass the id of the oldest revision the previous run returned to page backwards. At least 1.

```
### Get linked entries
List the entries an entry links to. On Wiktionary an entry links to the words in its definitions, its synonyms, and its derived and related terms, so this walks outward from one word into the vocabulary around it.
**Inputs**
- Entry (`title`, text, required): The Wiktionary entry whose outgoing links to list.
- Namespaces (`namespaces`, list): Only links into these parts of the wiki. Leave every option unchecked to include them all.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many links to return (1–500). Defaults to 100. From 1 to 500. Default: `100`.
- Continue from (`continue_from`, text): Pass the 'next_page_token' a previous run returned to pick up where it stopped. Leave blank for the first page.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
Get the direct URL, size and licensing for one Wiktionary media file: the playable link for a pronunciation recording, or the full-size image behind a thumbnail, together with the attribution its licence asks for.
**Inputs**
- File (`file`, text, required): The file's title, as Get entry media reports it, including an edition's own word for the file namespace (Fichier:, Datei:). The 'File:' prefix is optional.
- Thumbnail width (`thumbnail_width`, number): Also return a thumbnail this many pixels wide. Leave blank for the original file only. From 1 to 4096.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `author` (text)
- `credit` (text): The source the licence asks you to credit.
- `description` (text): What the file shows, from its Commons page.
- `description_url` (text): The file's description page.
- `duration_seconds` (number): How long a recording runs; 0 for a still image.
- `height` (number)
- `hosted_on` (text): 'commons' when the file lives on Wikimedia Commons, as most Wiktionary media does; 'local' when the edition hosts it itself.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `license` (text): The licence the file is published under.
- `license_url` (text)
- `media_type` (text): 'AUDIO', 'BITMAP', 'DRAWING', 'VIDEO', …
- `mime_type` (text)
- `size_bytes` (number)
- `thumbnail_url` (text)
- `title` (text)
- `uploaded_at` (text)
- `uploaded_by` (text)
- `url` (text): Direct link to the file itself.
- `width` (number)
**Example output**
### Get random entries
Pick entries at random: a word of the day, a vocabulary quiz, a writing prompt. Pair it with Get definitions to send the word and its meaning somewhere.
**Inputs**
- How many (`count`, number): How many entries to pick (1–20). Defaults to 1. From 1 to 20. Default: `1`.
- Namespace (`namespace`, text): Which part of the wiki to pick from. Defaults to the dictionary entries themselves (namespace 0).
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `entries` (list)
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
    }
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "namespace": "0"
}
```

### Get recent changes

List a Wiktionary edition's recent changes (the feed behind a 'watch the dictionary' workflow). Leave the dates blank for the newest changes; set 'Changed after' to the moment the last run finished to see only what has happened since.

**Inputs**

- Namespace (`namespace`, text): Only changes in this part of the wiki. Defaults to every namespace.
- Change types (`change_types`, list): Which kinds of change to include. Leave every option unchecked to get them all. One or more of: `edit` (Edits to existing pages), `new` (Newly created pages), `log` (Log entries (deletions, moves, blocks)), `categorize` (Category additions and removals).
- Filters (`show`, list): Extra filters to apply. Don't pick both halves of a pair (for example 'Only bot edits' and 'Exclude bot edits'), which would match nothing. One or more of: `minor` (Only minor edits), `!minor` (Exclude minor edits), `bot` (Only bot edits), `!bot` (Exclude bot edits), `anon` (Only logged-out editors), `!anon` (Exclude logged-out editors), `redirect` (Only redirects), `!redirect` (Exclude redirects).
- Changed after (`changed_after`, date and time): Only changes saved after this moment, oldest first. Leave blank for the newest changes.
- Changed before (`changed_before`, date and time): Only changes saved before this moment.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many changes to return (1–500). Defaults to 50. From 1 to 500. Default: `50`.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.

**Outputs**

- `changes` (list)
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `namespace` (text)
- `next_page_token` (text): Token to pass back as 'continue_from' for the next page; empty when there is nothing more.
- `order` (text): 'newest first' or 'oldest first'.

**Example output**

```json
{
  "changes": [
    {
      "comment": "/* Descendants */",
      "id": 153346142,
      "is_anonymous": false,
### List entries
Walk a Wiktionary edition's titles in alphabetical order: every entry starting with 'cat', the stretch from 'aa' to 'az', or simply the first few thousand. This enumerates the dictionary rather than searching it, and pages through long walks with a token.
**Inputs**
- Starting with (`prefix`, text): Only entries whose title starts with this text. Leave blank to walk everything.
- Start at (`start_from`, text): Begin the walk at this title (inclusive). Leave blank to start at the beginning of the alphabet.
- Stop at (`end_at`, text): Stop the walk at this title (inclusive). Leave blank to run to the end.
- Namespace (`namespace`, text): Which part of the wiki to list. Defaults to the dictionary entries themselves (namespace 0).
- Include (`include`, text): Whether to include redirects (the alternative spellings that point at a real entry). Defaults to both. One of: `all` (Entries and redirects), `nonredirects` (Entries only), `redirects` (Redirects only). Default: `all`.
- Order (`direction`, text): Which way to walk the alphabet. Defaults to A → Z. One of: `ascending` (A → Z), `descending` (Z → A). Default: `ascending`.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many entries to return (1–500). Defaults to 50. From 1 to 500. Default: `50`.
- Continue from (`continue_from`, text): Pass the 'next_page_token' a previous run returned to pick up where it stopped. Leave blank for the first page.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `direction` (text)
- `entries` (list)
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `namespace` (text)
- `next_page_token` (text): Token to pass back as 'continue_from' for the next page; empty when there is nothing more.
**Example output**
```json
{
  "count": 2,
  "direction": "ascending",
  "entries": [
    {
      "namespace": 0,
      "page_id": 36,

    },
    {
      "namespace": 0,
      "page_id": 1302160,
      "title": "cat's-eye",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat's-eye"
    }
  ],
  "language": "en",
  "namespace": "0",
  "next_page_token": "cat's-foot"
}
```
### List entries in a category
List everything filed under one Wiktionary category: every English palindrome, every term borrowed from Japanese, every word that has been Word of the Day. Give the category with or without its 'Category:' prefix.
**Inputs**
- Category (`category`, text, required): The category to list, e.g. 'English palindromes'. The 'Category:' prefix is optional, and an edition's own word for it (Catégorie:, Kategorie:) is understood too.
- Include (`member_types`, list): What kinds of member to return. Leave every option unchecked to get them all. One or more of: `page` (Entries and other pages), `subcat` (Sub-categories), `file` (Files).
- Order by (`sort`, text): Alphabetically, or by when each member joined the category (newest additions first). Defaults to alphabetical. One of: `sortkey` (Alphabetical), `timestamp` (When it was added). Default: `sortkey`.
- Order (`direction`, text): Which way to read the order. Defaults to A → Z. One of: `ascending` (A → Z), `descending` (Z → A). Default: `ascending`.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many members to return (1–500). Defaults to 50. From 1 to 500. Default: `50`.
- Continue from (`continue_from`, text): Pass the 'next_page_token' a previous run returned to pick up where it stopped. Leave blank for the first page.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `category` (text)
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `members` (list)
- `next_page_token` (text): Token to pass back as 'continue_from' for the next page; empty when there is nothing more.
- `url` (text): Link to the page on Wiktionary.
**Example output**
```json
{
  "category": "Category:English palindromes",
  "count": 2,
  "language": "en",

    },
    {
      "added_at": "2023-11-04T18:02:10Z",
      "namespace": 0,
      "page_id": 48211,
      "title": "level",

    }
  ],
  "next_page_token": "",
  "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_palindromes"
}
```
### List namespaces
List a Wiktionary edition's namespaces and the number that identifies each one. Dictionary entries live in namespace 0; an edition's other content spaces (Appendix, Thesaurus, Rhymes, Reconstruction) have their own numbers, and those numbers differ between editions.
**Inputs**
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `namespaces` (list)
**Example output**
```json
{
  "count": 3,
  "language": "en",
  "namespaces": [
    {
      "canonical_name": "",
      "id": 0,
      "is_content": true,
      "name": ""
    },
    {
      "canonical_name": "Appendix",
      "id": 100,
      "is_content": true,
      "name": "Appendix"
    },
    {
      "canonical_name": "Thesaurus",
      "id": 110,
      "is_content": true,
      "name": "Thesaurus"
    }
  ]
}
```
### List Wiktionary editions
List every Wiktionary edition and the language code each one uses. Those codes are exactly what the 'Wiktionary edition' input on every other action takes.
**Inputs**
- Include closed editions (`include_closed`, true/false): Also list the editions Wikimedia has closed to new edits. Defaults to off. Default: `false`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `editions` (list)
**Example output**
```json
{
  "count": 2,
  "editions": [
    {
      "is_closed": false,
      "iso_code": "en",
      "language": "en",
      "language_name": "English",
      "native_name": "English",
      "site_name": "Wiktionary",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org"
    },
    {
      "is_closed": false,
      "iso_code": "fr",
      "language": "fr",
      "language_name": "French",
      "native_name": "fran\u00e7ais",
      "site_name": "Wiktionnaire",
      "url": "https://fr.wiktionary.org"
    }
  ]
}
```
### Search entries
Search a Wiktionary edition for entries matching some text, and get each match with a highlighted excerpt showing where it matched. Use this when you know roughly what a word means but not what it is.
**Inputs**
- Search (`query`, text, required): What to search Wiktionary for.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many matches to return (1–100). Defaults to 10. From 1 to 100. Default: `10`.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `query` (text)
- `results` (list)
**Example output**
```json
{
  "count": 1,
  "language": "en",
  "query": "cat",
  "results": [
    {
      "description": "",
      "excerpt": "A domesticated feline.",
      "excerpt_html": "A domesticated <span class=\"searchmatch\">feline</span>.",
      "key": "cat",
      "page_id": 36,
      "thumbnail_url": "https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3a/Cat03.jpg/60px-Cat03.jpg",
      "title": "cat",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cat"
    }
  ]
}
```
### Search entries (advanced)
Search a Wiktionary edition with the full-text engine's own controls: search a namespace other than the dictionary itself (Appendix, Thesaurus, Rhymes), choose the ordering, page beyond the first screen, and see how many entries matched in total.
**Inputs**
- Search (`query`, text, required): What to search for. Wiktionary's search syntax works here too, e.g. 'incategory:"English palindromes"'.
- Namespace (`namespace`, text): Which part of the wiki to search. Defaults to searching every namespace.
- Order by (`sort`, text): How to order the matches. Defaults to best match. One of: `relevance` (Best match), `last_edit_asc` (Least recently edited first), `last_edit_desc` (Most recently edited first), `create_timestamp_asc` (Oldest entries first), `create_timestamp_desc` (Newest entries first), `incoming_links_asc` (Fewest incoming links first), `incoming_links_desc` (Most incoming links first), `random` (Random order). Default: `relevance`.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many matches to return (1–500). Defaults to 20. From 1 to 500. Default: `20`.
- Skip (`offset`, number): How many matches to skip before returning results. Pass the 'next_offset' from a previous run to get the next page. Defaults to 0. From 0 to 10000. Default: `0`.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `namespace` (text)
- `next_offset` (number): Offset for the next page, or empty at the end of the results.
- `offset` (number)
- `query` (text)
- `results` (list)
- `sort` (text)
- `total_hits` (number): How many entries matched in total.
**Example output**
```json
{
  "count": 1,
  "language": "en",
  "namespace": "0",
  "next_offset": 20,
  "offset": 0,
  "query": "borrowed from Japanese",
  "results": [
    {
      "last_edited": "2026-06-02T11:04:19Z",
      "namespace": 0,
      "page_id": 51334,
      "size": 6120,
      "snippet": "Borrowed from Japanese \u6d25\u6ce2.",
      "snippet_html": "<span class=\"searchmatch\">Borrowed from Japanese</span> \u6d25\u6ce2.",
      "title": "tsunami",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/tsunami",
      "word_count": 431
    }
  ],
  "sort": "relevance",
  "total_hits": 8421
}
```
### Suggest entries
Complete a partly-typed word against Wiktionary's entry titles. This is the autocomplete behind Wiktionary's own search box: it matches titles rather than entry text, so it answers instantly and is the right way to check a spelling or offer 'did you mean' options.
**Inputs**
- Beginning of the word (`query`, text, required): The start of a word to complete.
- Maximum results (`limit`, number): How many suggestions to return (1–100). Defaults to 10. From 1 to 100. Default: `10`.
- Wiktionary edition (`language`, text): Which Wiktionary to read. Each edition explains the world's words in its own language, so the English Wiktionary defines French words in English and the French Wiktionary defines English words in French. Defaults to English. Default: `en`.
**Outputs**
- `count` (number): How many items this result carries.
- `language` (text): The Wiktionary edition this result came from.
- `query` (text)
- `suggestions` (list)
**Example output**
```json
{
  "count": 2,
  "language": "en",
  "query": "seren",
  "suggestions": [

      "thumbnail_url": "",
      "title": "serene",
      "url": "https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/serene"
    }
  ]
}
```
