barcodeapi.org

App · 3 actions

Make barcodes with barcodeapi.org: product barcodes (EAN-13, UPC-A), stock and shipping labels (Code 128, Code 39, ITF-14), QR codes, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec. Make one at a time, or a whole list at once as a zip file of images, with the colours, size and printed text chosen for you or set as you like. Retail numbers get their check digit added or checked, and anything that will not fit is explained before it is printed. No account or API key required.

Create a barcode

Turn a product number, SKU, ticket ID or any short text into a barcode image, ready to print on a label or drop into a document. Choose the format or let it pick one, and set the colours and size. Retail numbers get their check digit added or checked for you. No account or API key required.

Inputs

Barcode texttexttextRequired
What the barcode should hold, such as a product number or a stock code. It has to fit on one line.
Barcode typebarcode_typetext
The kind of barcode. Pick automatically lets barcodeapi.org choose one that fits the text, such as EAN-13 for a product number or a QR code for a link. Choose a type when a scanner, a label printer or a retailer expects a particular one.One of: auto (Pick automatically), 128 (Code 128, letters, numbers and symbols), 39 (Code 39, capital letters and numbers), 13 (EAN-13, retail products), a (UPC-A, retail products in North America), 8 (EAN-8, small retail packs), e (UPC-E, small packs in North America), 14 (ITF-14, shipping cartons), codabar (Codabar, libraries and labs), qr (QR code), and 3 more. Default: auto.
Show the text under the barsshow_texttrue/false
Print the barcode's text under it in plain characters, so a person can read and type it if a scanner fails. Only line barcodes have this.Default: true.
Bar colourforeground_colortext
The colour of the bars, as a hex colour. It has to be clearly darker than the background or scanners will not read it. QR and Aztec codes always come out black on white.Default: #000000.
Background colourbackground_colortext
The colour behind the bars, as a hex colour. Keep it light so the bars stand out.Default: #ffffff.
Bar height (mm)heightnumber
How tall the bars are, in millimetres when printed at the image's resolution, between 10 and 150. Only line barcodes have this. From 10 to 150. Default: 22.
Sizesizetext
How big the image is. Large and Extra large are sharper for printing on labels. QR and Aztec codes always come out at their standard size. One of: standard, large, extra_large (Extra large). Default: standard.
Save asfilenametext
Optional. The name to save the image under. Named after what the barcode holds by default, e.g. sku-1001-barcode.png.

Outputs

barcode_typetext
The barcode format that was drawn, such as EAN-13.
content_typetext
File type of the saved image.
document_reftext
Reference to the saved image, for use by a later step.
documentslist
The barcode image, in the shape steps that send or upload files expect.
encoded_texttext
Exactly what a scanner reads from the barcode, including a check digit that was added for you.
filenametext
Name the image was saved under.
size_bytesnumber
Size of the saved image in bytes.
urltext
Download link for the saved image.

Create a QR code

Turn a link or any other text into a QR code image, ready to print, email or drop into a document. Choose the size and how much damage it can survive. The image is saved so later steps can attach or upload it. No account or API key required.

Inputs

Link or texttexttextRequired
What the code should hold. A web address opens when scanned; anything else is shown as text. It has to fit on one line.
Sizesizenumber
How many pixels across the code should be, between 50 and 500. QR codes are always square. From 50 to 500. Default: 300.
Damage toleranceerror_correctiontext
How much of the code can be scratched, smudged or covered and still scan. Stronger levels make the pattern denser, so step up for anything printed and handled. One of: L (Standard, the smallest code), M (Better, copes with minor damage), Q (Strong, for stickers and labels), H (Strongest, for signs and worn surfaces). Default: M.
Borderbordernumber
Blank space around the code, counted in code squares, from 0 to 8. 4 is the standard and scans most reliably; use 0 if your design already leaves space around it.From 0 to 8. Default: 4.
Save asfilenametext
Optional. The name to save the image under. Named after what the code holds by default, e.g. lodol-ai-qr-code.png.

Outputs

barcode_typetext
The barcode format that was drawn, such as EAN-13.
content_typetext
File type of the saved image.
