CardBinCheck
App · 2 actions
Look up a payment card from its first 6 to 8 digits (its BIN or IIN): the card network, whether it is credit, debit or prepaid, the issuing bank and the country it was issued in. Check one card or a whole list at once, to flag foreign cards or route payments. No account or API key required.
Look up a card BIN
Find out about a payment card from its first 6 to 8 digits (its BIN): the card network, whether it is a credit, debit or prepaid card, the bank that issued it and the country it comes from. Use it to spot a card from another country than the customer's, or to tell debit from credit before you charge. A whole card number can be given; only its first 8 digits are sent. No API key required.
Inputs
- Card number or BIN
card_numbertextRequired - The first 6 to 8 digits of the card, for example 45717360. A whole card number works too: spaces and hyphens are ignored, and only the first 8 digits are sent.
Outputs
bank_phonetext- The issuing bank's customer service phone number, when CardBinCheck has it.
bank_websitetext- The issuing bank's website, when CardBinCheck has it.
bintext- The BIN CardBinCheck matched, which can be shorter than the digits looked up (42424242 matches 424242).
bin_searchedtext- The digits that were looked up: the first 6 to 8 digits of what was given. The rest of a card number is never sent.
card_leveltext- The card's product level, such as Classic, Gold, Platinum or Business. Empty when CardBinCheck does not know it.
card_typetext- Credit, Debit, Prepaid or Charge Card.
country_codetext- The two-letter code of the country the card was issued in.
country_nametext- The name of the country the card was issued in.
details_urltext- CardBinCheck's page for this BIN.
foundtrue/false- Whether CardBinCheck knows this BIN. When false, every card detail is empty and the message says why.
issuing_banktext- The bank or financial institution that issued the card. Empty when CardBinCheck does not know it.
messagetext- Why the BIN was not found or could not be looked up. Empty when it was found.
networktext- The card network, such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or JCB.

}Look up several card BINs
Look up a whole list of BINs or card numbers in one step, such as a column of payments, and get back each card's network, type, issuing bank and country, plus how many were found. A BIN that is unknown or mistyped comes back as a row saying so rather than failing the step. Up to 100 at a time, and it uses far less of the daily allowance than looking them up one by one. No API key required.
Inputs
- Card numbers or BINs
card_numberslistRequired - Up to 100 BINs or card numbers. Only the first 8 digits of each are sent. Several in one entry, separated by commas or line breaks, are split apart.
Outputs
countnumber- How many BINs were looked up.
found_countnumber- How many of them CardBinCheck knows.
not_found_countnumber- How many were unknown or not valid card numbers.
resultslist- One row per BIN, in the order they were given, so the rows line up with the list that was sent.
