Remotive
App · Jobs & Hiring · 4 actions
Search Remotive, the remote-only job board, through its free public API. Leave the filters empty for the newest remote openings, or narrow them by keyword, category, employer, kind of employment, the region you can work from, whether the pay is stated and when the job was posted: every one of those chosen from a list of what the board actually holds, so a filter is never a guess. Pull one posting in full from its link, see which kinds of work are hiring, and see which companies are. Descriptions arrive as plain text rather than HTML, and every result carries the link back to the posting that Remotive's terms ask for. Jobs reach the API about a day after they go live on the site. No account or API key is required.
Actions
| Action | What it does |

| List categories | List the thirty kinds of work Remotive files a job under (Software Development, Design, Customer Service and the rest), each with how many roles are open in it right now and the short name the search's Categories filter takes. |

Get a job
Fetch one posting in full, from its Remotive link or its id, with the whole description both as plain text and as the original HTML. This is the step for a link that arrived from somewhere else (in a message, a spreadsheet or an earlier step) when you want everything Remotive holds about it. Remotive's API publishes only the jobs that are open right now, so a role that has been filled or has expired is reported as no longer there.
Inputs
- Job link or ID
jobtextRequired - The job to look up. Paste its Remotive link, or use the 'id' or 'url' from an earlier search step.
Outputs
jobobjectjob_idtext- The id that was looked up.
termstext- Remotive's API terms, which ask for a link back to each posting and a credit to Remotive as the source, and do not allow its jobs to be passed on to other job boards.

List the companies hiring on Remotive, most open roles first, each with how many roles they have open, the categories those sit in, and a link to their newest posting. }Search jobs
Search Remotive, the remote-only job board. Every filter is optional: leave them all empty for the newest remote jobs, or narrow by keyword, category, employer, kind of employment, where you can work from, whether the pay is stated and when the job was posted. Categories, employers, kinds of employment and regions are all chosen from lists of what the board actually holds, so a filter is never a guess. Each description comes back as plain text rather than HTML, and each job carries the link back to its posting that Remotive's terms ask for. Remotive publishes a job to its API about a day after it goes live on the site.
Inputs
- Keywords
keywordstext - Words the job has to contain. Every word must appear, but it can appear anywhere in the posting: the title, the company, the category, the tags, where it can be taken from or the description. Leave empty to skip keyword matching.
- Categories
categorieslist - Only return jobs in these categories. A job sits in exactly one, so adding a second category widens the answer rather than narrowing it. The list is Remotive's own, with how many roles are open in each beside it -- a category showing 0 is simply empty today, and is still worth choosing for a search that runs on a schedule. Leave empty for every category.
- Companies
companieslist - Only return jobs at these employers. The list is who is hiring right now, with how many roles each has open, so it only names employers there are jobs to find. To watch an employer who has nothing open today, put their name in Keywords instead. Leave empty for every employer.
- Job type
job_typeslist - Only return these kinds of employment. The list is what the board is offering right now, with a count beside each. Leave empty for every kind.
- Open to candidates in
regionslist - Only return jobs someone in one of these places may take. Roles open worldwide are always included, because anyone may take those -- so choosing Europe gives the European roles and the worldwide ones, and choosing Worldwide on its own gives only the roles open to everyone. The list is where the board is hiring right now. Leave empty for everywhere.
- Only jobs that state pay
states_paytrue/false - Leave off for every job. Turn on to keep only the postings whose employer said something about pay, which is about a third of the board. Remotive stores pay as whatever the employer typed -- '$150k - $230k' on one posting, '$50-$75 /hour' on the next -- so this asks whether there is a figure to read, not whether it reaches an amount.Default:
false. - Posted on or after
posted_afterdate - Only return jobs published on this date or later. Dates are read in UTC, which is how Remotive stamps a posting. Leave empty for everything on the board.
- Posted on or before
posted_beforedate - Only return jobs published on this date or earlier. The whole of the day named is included. Leave empty for everything up to today.
- Number of jobs
max_resultsnumber - How many jobs to return, newest first, from 1 to 100. Defaults to 25.From 1 to 100. Default:
25. - Description length
description_charactersnumber - How much of each job's description to return, as plain text with the HTML removed, up to 20,000 characters, which is the whole of all but the longest postings. Set 0 to leave descriptions out entirely when a step only needs titles, pay and links. Defaults to 600.From 0 to 20000. Default:
600. - Show in the run
output_detailtext - How much of each job to print into the run output for a person to read. Every job that was returned is listed either way, however many that is: the number of jobs above decides that, not this field. 'One line each' gives the job, the company, where it can be taken from, the kind of employment, the pay if it is stated, how long ago it was posted and the link; 'Every field' adds the category, the tags, the exact posting date and the description. This only changes what is displayed, never what is saved: a later step sees the same data whichever is chosen. Defaults to one line each. One of:
summary(One line each),full(Every field, over several lines each). Default:summary.
Outputs
categorieslist- The categories the search was narrowed to.
companieslist- The employers the search was narrowed to.
job_typeslist- The kinds of employment the search was narrowed to.
jobslistkeywordstext- The keywords that were searched.
output_detailtext- Which of the two display choices the step ran with, 'summary' or 'full'.
posted_aftertext- The earliest publication date kept, or empty for no bound.
posted_beforetext- The latest publication date kept, or empty for no bound.
regionslist- The regions the search was narrowed to.
result_countnumber- How many jobs are returned.
scanned_countnumber- How many jobs are open on Remotive in total.
states_paytrue/false- Whether only jobs that state pay were kept.
termstext- Remotive's API terms, which ask for a link back to each posting and a credit to Remotive as the source, and do not allow its jobs to be passed on to other job boards.
truncatedtrue/false- Whether the result limit was reached with matches left over.
