Get a project

Get everything the World Bank publishes about one project: its amounts and how much has been disbursed, dates, borrower and agency, objective, sector and theme shares, financiers, milestones and its evaluation rating once finished.

Inputs

Project IDproject_idtextRequired: The project's ID, a P and six digits such as P178329. Its page on projects.worldbank.org shows it, and 'Search projects' returns it.

Outputs

abstracttext: A longer summary, when the World Bank wrote one.
approval_datetext: When the Board approved it, or is expected to, as YYYY-MM-DD.
borrowertext: Who borrows or receives the money.
closing_datetext: When it closes or closed, as YYYY-MM-DD.
commitmentnumber: The World Bank's commitment in US dollars: IBRD and IDA lending plus the grants it administers, the amount its project pages show.
countrytext: The country, or for a multi-country project its region or group.
country_codetext: The country's two-letter code, such as KE.
country_urltext: The World Bank's page for the country.
disbursednumber: US dollars paid out so far under its IBRD and IDA loans; null when no loan transactions are published.
disclosure_datetext: When its first document was made public.
display_idtext: How the World Bank labels additional financing for an earlier project, such as P180085 (AF 1); null otherwise.
effective_datetext: When its financing took effect, as YYYY-MM-DD.
environmental_categoryobject: The environmental assessment category used before the World Bank's current framework; null for newer projects.
environmental_social_riskobject: The environmental and social risk rating of a project under the current framework; null for older projects.
evaluationobject: The Independent Evaluation Group's latest rating of a finished project; null until it has rated it.
financierslist: Who puts money in, largest first.
financinglist: The kinds of financing: IBRD, IDA, Grants or Other.
fiscal_yearnumber: The World Bank fiscal year of approval (July to June).
grant_amountnumber: Other grants, such as from trust funds, in US dollars.
ibrd_commitmentnumber: The IBRD loan amount, in US dollars.

repaidnumber: US dollars of those loans repaid so far.
sectorslist: The sectors it finances, largest share first.
stagetext: The last stage reached, such as Board Approved.
statustext: Active, Pipeline, Closed or Dropped.
team_leaderslist: The World Bank staff who lead it.
themeslist: The broad themes it serves, largest share first. A project can serve several themes with the same money, so shares can add up to more than 100.
urltext: The project's page on projects.worldbank.org.

Find World Bank projects by words in their name or objective, country, region, status, kind of financing, sector, theme or approval date, newest approval first. Each project comes with its commitment and a link to its page.

Summarize lending

Add up how many projects there are and how much the World Bank committed to them, by country, region, status, fiscal year or sector, with the largest projects named. Takes the same filters as a search and counts approved projects unless you pick statuses. A summary of thousands of projects takes a few seconds.
