Convert a file
Convert a document, image, audio file, video or eBook into another format, such as Word to PDF, HEIC to JPG or MOV to MP4. The converted file is saved so later steps can email, upload or store it.
Inputs
- File
filetextRequired - The file to convert: upload one, pick a file from an earlier step, or paste a public link to one.
- Convert to
output_formattextRequired - The format to convert into. For a link, only the formats Zamzar can make from that file are listed.
- Input format
input_formattext - Optional. The format the file is in. Zamzar reads it from the file's extension; set it only when the name has no extension or a misleading one.
- Save as
filenametext - Optional. The name to save the converted file under. Defaults to the original name with the new extension.
Outputs
content_typetext- The (first) converted file's media type.
conversion_idtext- Zamzar's number for the conversion, for 'Get a converted file'.
conversion_statustext- done when the files are saved; converting while Zamzar is still working on them.
credits_usednumber- Zamzar credits the conversion cost.
document_reftext- Reference to the (first) converted file, to attach.
documentslist- Every converted file, saved. Usually one; a conversion into pages, such as a PDF into PNG images, makes one per page.
file_countnumber- How many files the conversion made.
filenametext- Name the (first) converted file was saved under.
input_formattext- The format Zamzar read the file as, e.g. docx.
output_formattext- The format the file was converted into, e.g. pdf.
size_bytesnumber- Size of the (first) converted file in bytes.
